If you ask ‘how' to the question of weight loss, I say it’s simple but never easy. Exercise and eat in moderation, with guidance from a mentor.
- I grew up in a middle class family on the prairies and received my degree in physical activity. I became a Certified Exercise Physiologist. I started my career in a rehabilitation before moving on to work with individuals like you. I was heavy growing up - I would lose and then gain 10 pounds. I know. I have found my plan, but every day I think about what I put in my mouth.
- What happened in 20 years of this career? I found there is not one book that answers everything, not one exercise program that works, there are no magic diets -the answer is a combination. Everyone is different - so are your program and needs. I am educated, but life experiences open our eyes to the real issues.
- It became apparent I wasn’t just "that trainer who liked lunges" -I had become a lifestyle mentor. As I searched the conference halls and scientific articles, I discovered I was the one putting it together for people – taking all those little niggly things and coming up with very individual programs. You can succeed in enjoying life and eating well too!
- I have to work out because I like to eat well. Cooking is my hobby, and I don’t skimp on good ingredients. When I travel, I also like to eat- but to come home feeling good about myself, I work regular exercise into my holiday schedule.
- I am a partner in Cava, a wine and foodie store located in Saskatoon.
- I am a Clarity Business Coach through Business Instincts Group in Calgary.
